The supports are designed so you can choose whether the lip protrudes underneath the tiroir or along the side of the tiroir. The montage hardware is compact, so no threaded end protrudes on the outside. You can even attach two glissières de tiroir to both sides of one support. This is ideal for multiple tiroirs next to each other, for example in a camping-car or véhicule utilitaire. If you want multiple tiroirs above each other, this can be done easily and quickly using these high supports BS1B-UNI-3.
The supports de sol also make installation easier. Even professionals who could screw the glissières de tiroir directly to the inner walls of a caisson often choose our supports de sol for the following reason: adjusting glissières de tiroir is, as explained under the ‘Mounting’ heading, a difficult and precise job. The space between the caisson and tiroir may only deviate minimally from the specifications, and the montage positions on both parois latérales must also be aligned with each other. This takes time and can be frustrating. You can avoid this by using our supports de sol. Mount the tiroir and the supports de sol to the slides and then place the entire assembly into the caisson. After sliding the tiroir ouvert and fermé once, the slides are correctly aligned relative to each other and you only need to screw the supports to the base. Ideal!
Monter un tiroir ou une plateforme ?
You can screw or bolt the inner profile of the glissières de tiroir directly to the side of a tiroir. However, there are situations where our aluminium tiroir supports BS1B-UNI-2 are useful. These angle profiles support the tiroir, reducing the charge on the tiroir wall so it can be made from thinner material. You could even omit the parois latérales and create a pull-out platform between the slides. Besides the extra possibilities, the supports also help with adjustment. You do not have to screw both slides to a tiroir wall at exactly the same height. After montage the supports, simply place the tiroir on the supports and screw it in place. It could not be easier!
Sans verrouillage ?
These heavy-duty glissières de tiroir are NOT fitted with a verrouillage function, so the tiroir can move freely. This is often desirable for indoor use or in a workshop. For tiroirs in vehicles, the same version WITH verrouillage in both ouvert and fermé positions is often chosen.
This verrouillage function blocks movement in both fermé and ouvert positions. It is intended to prevent unwanted movement, for example in a véhicule utilitaire while driving or for a pull-out kitchen unit in a camping-car. The same length WITH lock is the BS2L-250-700.
Quel poids un tiroir avec ces glissières peut-il supporter ?
One set of these glissières de tiroir can carry 250 kg. This applies both when retracted and sorti, provided the poids is evenly distributed along the length. If the poids is placed only deep inside the tiroir, these slides can carry about 115% = 285 kg. The maximum point charge at the front of the tiroir is about 70% = 175 kg. Do not forget to include the tiroir’s own poids in your charge calculation. If necessary, place dividers in the tiroir to prevent heavy contents from sliding forward. This benefits the glissières de tiroir. You may also choose not to let the slides extend fully, but to stop the movement earlier. This reduces the lever arm of the protruding poids, allowing the slides to carry a higher charge compared with maximum extension.
Utilisation horizontale ou verticale des glissières de tiroir ?
The stated charges apply when the glissières de tiroir are used in the standard vertical position, monté against parois latérales. The slides can also be monté flat/horizontally under the tiroir, but this has negative effects on maximum charge and deflection. The maximum charge capacity decreases by 60%, and the front of the tiroir will deflect several centimetres instead of a few millimetres when sorti, assuming the same poids.
There is also another major disadvantage that is often overlooked. A flat-monté glissière de tiroir is very sensitive to dirt. When the tiroir ouverts, the middle and largest profile is exposed like a long greased tray. The ball cage between the middle and largest profile is also exposed to things such as wind-blown sand. If it is only a little sand, these glissières de tiroir with their large 8 mm balls will continue to work, but the movement will not become smoother.</vc_column_text]
The glissières de tiroir must be placed without tension between the tiroir and the caisson. Tension occurs when parts of the slides are pulled apart or pressed together in the thickness direction. To achieve smooth movement, the distance between the tiroir and the parois latérales of the caisson must remain within the range of 19.1 to 19.9 mm. If the gap deviates from this range, friction occurs and the slides will operate stiffly. Besides smooth movement, tiroir stability is also important. The more space the slides have, the less stable the tiroir becomes. In other words: the closer the gap is to 19.1 mm, the more stable the tiroir. For example, a tiroir with a gap of 19.8 mm will show more sideways movement when sorti than a tiroir with a gap of 19.2 mm. In both cases, the tiroir moves smoothly. We therefore advertise 19.1 mm because, considering both aspects, this is the ideal gap. The addition +0.8 / -0 indicates how much this size may deviate.
